Grape Day Park is where Escondido has played and celebrated since 1886 and is a registered historic landmark.
Park features include mature trees, art, memorials, spacious green areas with shade trees and picnic tables, and "Vinehenge," a unique playground with hidden treasures for children to find. Plus it's surrounded by cultural attractions.
Grape Day Park has games to check out: giant chess (the king is 37" tall!), giant checkers, giant dominos, and giant pick up sticks. Horseshoes and bocce ball are also available. Check out games at the History Center office, Mon-Sat (free with the deposit of $10 and a photo ID that are returned when you're done playing).
