Calendar of Events
Blacksmithing and wheelwright classes are taught at the History Center through Escondido Adult School. Both beginning and advanced classes are offered. Classes are 10 weeks long and typically start in January, April and September. Contact the History Center for more info.

Check out hundreds of hot rods, custom and vintage cars when the American Heritage Car Show roars into Grape Day Park. The 15th annual event includes a pancake breakfast, DJ, raffle, vendors, and museum tours of the History Center. Local new car dealers sponsor the event and bring some new vehicles too. At the end of the show 23 awards are given out in a spectacular fashion to winner chosen by entrants. Spectators are always free, $25 vehicle fee. Organized by, and benefiting, the non-profit Escondido History Center.

American Heritage Car Show
Movies in the Park will be back this summer for the 5th year! Organized by the Escondido History Center, movies will be shown twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in June, July and August . County of San Diego Dept. of Parks and Recreation is the sponsor of two movies in June. Escondido Recreation will be here for the movies in July and August. Activities start at 7pm and the movie airs at dusk. Snacks available. Bring low back chairs or a blanket, flashlight and sweater (even on hot days, the park can get chilly at night.) The fun starts June 9th!

You won't want to miss the fun of Glow-in-the-Park! Check out illuminated and inflatable art, participate in an art project, watch art films on an inflatable screen and more. Glow-in-the-Park is organized by the Escondido History Center and the Escondido Arts Partnership, with funding by The San Diego Foundation.

The community is invited to the park to participate in the Global Day of Prayer. Meet on the deck of the train depot at 3:30 for one hour of prayer for our community, country and the world. There will be prayers for our families, community leaders, first responders, and the disenfranchised. To learn more visit
